What was your first date?

Our first date was basically a live action rom com test drive episode - cute, awkward, chaotic, and unintentionally funny. It was a glimpse of how we would be and how we still are with each other.

To give you the rundown, the storyline starts with Jose picking Gwen up in what can only be described as “peak summer meets fall fashion.” It was 85+ degrees, the sun was blazing, the birds were already sweating, and this man showed up in a full layered outfit with a quarter zip. Fashionable? Yes. Practical? Questionable. At that moment Gwen, who's a nurse, was debating whether to pack her nursing bag just in case you know a heatstroke were to happen.

Anyways, we went to the Southwick's Zoo for our first date! Brownie points were definitely given how spontaneous Gwen loves to be. It was a great place to talk, walk around, and do something interactive. It was going well!

Until…he lost his phone. Just gone.

So now we’re running around the zoo retracing steps, risking heatstroke even more and at this point Gwen’s probably thinking, “Oh brother, what did I get myself into?”

After the phone hunt adventure, it was determined that ice cream was a must and most needed.

And honestly? It worked. And now we’re here! Nothing has changed - Jose is still losing his phone and we are still eating ice cream. Our journey to get here has been full of blessings and trials, so we give all the glory to God for his love for us as we choose forever with each other.
